EPA requires public water systems to provide their customers with Water Quality Reports every year.  Some states refer to them as Consumer Confidence Reports.  

To find your system's report, type "water quality report" into a search engine along with the name of your city/town and state.  Try "consumer confidence report" if nothing turns up under water quality.
